From aerial imagery to survey data

An aerial image you can measure
A conventional aerial photograph contains perspective distortions. An orthophoto has been processed and geometrically corrected to provide a uniform scale, allowing it to be used in much the same way as a map.
This makes it possible to combine the visual detail of photography with the project's coordinate system.
For the client, this provides an easy-to-understand representation where you can both see the construction site and relate the information to its correct position.
Design data from the air
For the design of groundworks, roads and civil engineering projects, drone surveying can be an efficient way to document large areas.
The aerial images can be processed into point clouds and digital terrain models that represent the geometry of the area in three dimensions.
Architects, structural engineers and designers thereby receive digital data that can be used for elevations, terrain modelling, sections and further design work.
And because Mätkonsult also provides design surveying and 3D scanning, we can combine different surveying methods when the project requires it.
Volume calculations using drones
For large stockpiles, excavations, rock surfaces and other material volumes, drone surveying can be a highly efficient way to capture the information required for volume calculations.
The dense data capture makes it possible to create detailed surface models and calculate volumes between different surfaces or between surveys carried out at different times.

Mätkonsult is a registered drone operator with the Swedish Transport Agency, and our remote pilots have the required competence for the types of operations we carry out.
Before each assignment, we assess the conditions for the flight and plan the operation according to the location, airspace and applicable regulations.
